The Canticle is the most esteemed, most prestigious, most accurate, most educative and most enjoyable newspaper of the realm.
These impressive superlatives are not diminished at all by the fact that The Canticle is, in fact, the only real newspaper in the realm. There is, as you will learn, a competing product published by the so-called Dalair Free Press. But we all know that anything associated with such a den of mercenaries and other questionable material cannot fulfil the demands of civilized journalism. Indeed, the main matter of the fish-wrap sold by the Dalair papergoblin consists of juicy and adamantly denied rumours, gruesome reports of violence and vile propaganda against the most noble human royalty of Nepeth - who, by the way, have generously sponsored The Canticle.
The Canticle was founded by Thaddeus senior, who guided it wisely for many years until retiring to explore the rediscovered continent of Infidian. He left the paper in charge of his son, Thaddeus junior, who now runs it with the help of his assistant Erin and the Canticle staff.
The Canticle offices lie just outside the west gate of Tantallon, by the humpbacked bridge. You can browse old issues of the paper in the archive, submit article ideas and classified advertisements or participate in polls there. You can buy the latest newspaper from the paperboy in Tantallon, at the crossing of Main Street and Scholar's Way.
