AAnniversary in Philadelphia - Directions
Here you will find directions to the Lofts at Valley Forge, and sets
of directions from the Lofts to many major attractions. All other
directions will originate from the Lofts. Almost everything should be
available with
Bing Maps
.
I mention Bing specifically because I have found Google to be sadly
incomplete when looking at some secondary roads in the local suburbs. We
don't want you getting lost.
The directions that follow add additional details to the directions. We
have done our best to choose routes that stay on major roads, and take as
few turns as possible. They will also try to include landmarks, and
instructions for what to do if you make a common mistake where making an
adjustment might be difficult.

Note that if you are travelling during peak hours, you will almost without
fail want to avoid major highways. If you think you will be arriving
during peak hours, please contact Dracul to find some simple alternate
routes.
Of Extreme Importance:
Please be extremely careful on the exit for Trooper Road coming off 422
West when turning left on Trooper Road toward the Lofts. Initially, you
will be taking a two lane exit and need to be in the leftmost lane in an
extremely short amount of time. Because the divergance for South Trooper
Road and the 422 East on-ramp are both located here, this is a very
dangerous intersection. When you are turning left from the off-ramp, it
is very difficult to tell whether cars in the second lanes of traffic
coming from your right are going to continue on the on-ramp for 422, or
if they will divert to South Trooper Road, directly in your path of
making a left here toward the Lofts. The traffic will be coming at you
travelling around 45 to 50 mph. To complicate things, because of the
laws surrounding highway onramps, there is a guardrail and concrete
divider present here which reduce visibility as to whether cars intend to
divert to South Trooper Road. You will have to watch for turn signals
further up the road. There is not a traffic light here to help you, so
please be very cautious making this turn. If you are at all concerned,
please simply make a right, go to the first traffic light, turn around in
the gas station, and from the gas station get into the left lane
immediately to divert to South Trooper Road. There is a large sign
directing you away from the 422 on-ramp onto South Trooper Road.
